ELIET DZC 750 Petrol Seeder - Honda GX390

The ELIET Overseeder has an active working width of 750 mm. This renovation operation is completed quickly on small and medium-sized lawns. With an output of at least 1000 m²/hour, this ELIET machine also offers several additional advantages for large lawns, sports fields, and golf courses where maneuverability and low ground pressure are highly valued.

The heavy work of this ELIET machine is done by the 24 blade discs underneath. Specially hardened blades cut grooves in the lawn soil at 30 mm intervals. The blades rotate backward, lifting the milled soil, thatch, moss, and grass from the lawn. This method creates clean grooves that better capture and contain the grass seed. The ideal blade thickness for overseeding is 3 mm.

While operating the machine, the travel speed on both rollers can be adjusted continuously. The lever mounted on the handlebar for this purpose maintains its speed as long as the All-in-one control™ lever is depressed. As soon as this lever is released, the cruise control returns, and the machine comes to a stop.

Despite the machine's weight, it requires no effort from the operator to bring it to working depth or lift it into transport position. An electric actuator, whose controls are integrated into the All-in-one Control™ lever, performs this task for the operator. For safety during transport, this control can be disabled with a switch on the instrument panel.

When the blades cut to an average depth of around 25 mm, they remove a considerable amount of soil and thatch from the ground. Because this debris wouldn't interfere with the seeding process, it must be removed. All the debris is then neatly ejected to the side of the machine. A deflector hood deposits this mixture of soil, moss, thatch, and grass on a small berm, which is easy to clean up afterward.

The spacious seed hopper holds 46 L (= 12 kg) of lawn seed. Because the ELIET Overseeding Combi is designed for highly targeted sowing with minimal loss, the amount of seed can be limited. The seed flow rate of this machine can also be precisely adjusted to a diagram. A rotor in the seed hopper ensures continuous seed drop whenever the machine is in motion. The movement generated by the rotor in the seed hopper prevents the lawn seed from separating. To prevent grass seed spillage, a system is included that automatically closes the seed hopper when the machine is lifted into transport position.

Seed manufacturers offer a wide variety of seed mixtures suitable for overseeding lawns. Some seed mixtures are already enriched with growth promoters. The composition of the seed mixture significantly influences the price. To prevent waste and loss, correct dosing is essential. ELIET has developed a seeding unit that allows for precise adjustment of the seed flow rate. Tests and simulations with common grass seed mixtures that ELIET has conducted for you are captured in several diagrams. These will help you choose the right distribution opening. To determine the seed flow rate very precisely, ELIET has also provided the option of measuring the distribution during a test run using a seed collection tray.

The seed is deposited very precisely above the furrows. The nozzles that deposit the seed are positioned as close as possible to the furrow to avoid wind influence. However, not all the seed always falls into the furrow. An ingenious system of blades still shakes the seeds into the furrows, minimizing seed loss.

The impressive caster wheel at the front of the machine was added to enhance its maneuverability. At turning points, the seeder is lifted electrically, allowing the machine to rest on the caster wheel. This gives the operator complete freedom to turn the machine or steer it in a different direction.

The two large rollers are driven by a hydrostatic pump. This allows the driving speed to be proportionally adjusted, allowing the operator to optimally adjust the working speed to the soil and lawn conditions. Furthermore, the drive on each roller can be controlled independently, allowing for on-the-spot turning (turning radius 0). This makes the machine ideal for working complex lawns.

The anti-scalp roller has a dual function. Firstly, it adjusts the working depth. Secondly, it keeps the machine at a constant working depth and compensates for uneven terrain. The roller flattens the small, micro-unevenness in the lawn, smoothing the path of the blades. Finally, the roller keeps the machine on a straight track, which improves its controllability.

An integrated transmission and gearbox offer a choice of four forward speeds and two reverse gears. Gears can be selected from the driver's seat. The central lever on the steering wheel decouples the engine power from the gearbox.

The 13 hp Honda GX390 was the preferred power source for the overseeder. This engine features a built-in reduction gear (1/2), which increases its pulling power. This modern engine was designed using overhead valve (OHV) technology. An electric start is standard. The cartridge filter with a pre-filter in the DZC 750 ensures the machine can operate in dusty conditions.

Regardless of the number of operations the machine performs in succession, ELIET has succeeded in building a remarkably compact machine. This feature is particularly effective on complex lawns.

To maintain the traction of the rear rollers, they are continuously cleaned by a brush. This prevents the rollers from slipping and damaging the lawn.
